The Dutch Ed-tech company Wizenoze , which gives students globally access to high-quality educational information on the internet, closed its growth-stage funding round and received a significant investment from new and existing investors to scale internationally. The round was led by “Partners in Equity”. Other investors in the round include Amsterdam based VC CapitalT and existing investors.
The investors see Wizenoze as the real game-changer in online education, now that access to high-quality online information is more important than ever. Due to COVID-19 1,5 billion students are learning from home and depending on online information to support their independent learning. Wizenoze gives these students access to the best educational information the internet has to offer.
Hundreds of thousands of students are already using Wizenoze’s product “Web for Classrooms”, to give them access to relevant and high-quality online information through key business partners, such as Pearson BTEC, NESTA (MoE UK), Infinitas Learning, ThiemeMeulenhoff and Consortium Beroepsonderwijs. The Company has recently entered the lucrative Indian market and signed partnership deals to take its technology into the world’s largest K12 market with over 200 million students.
“This investment enables us to further improve our technology and products to roll-out in the UK, Middle East, and APAC and to realize our international growth ambitions,” said Diane Janknegt, Founder of Wizenoze. “We are on a global mission to reach 1,5 billion students and give them access to the best educational information that the internet has to offer. Matched to their own learning capabilities.”
“Wizenoze is strongly positioned to make Web for Classrooms the new standard for use of online information in classrooms worldwide,” said Janneke Niessen and Eva de Mol, Partners at CapitalT.“
Wizenoze believes that education is at a tipping point. Large-scale, national efforts to utilize technology in support of remote and online learning are emerging and evolving quickly. The internet could be a great source to offer information to match the learning needs. However, students all over the world are faced with a flood of commercially focused, inappropriate, and irrelevant information when searching online. Wizenoze aims to address this by facilitating access to an internet tailored for education. We develop industry-leading technology that enables students to search and find content online that matches their learning needs and reading skills.
