Wizenoze expands pledge to deliver trusted online content for education

A new Wizenoze office has opened in India, enabling Wizenoze to develop a complete, India-specific learning ecosystem with local content, curators and curriculum developers. This means that education providers in India can quickly scale up the student learning experience using Wizenoze proprietary technologies; all within a relevant and regional context for Indian students.

The expansion to India moves Wizenoze a step closer towards its development goals. Diane Janknegt, founder Wizenoze, reports, “Our vision is to connect a complete generation of learners in India to the best content on the internet and support communities in minimising the learning impact of COVID disruption.”

Welcome to Wizenoze Country Director India, Mr Suchindra Kumar

The Wizenoze team welcome Mr Suchindra Kumar, as the newly appointed Wizenoze Country Director, India. He will lead and develop the Wizenoze offering for the India region. Prior to his appointment as Country Director, Suchindra was Executive Director - Business Consulting for EY, he has a deep understanding of the Indian education space and policy frameworks. Suchindra reports, “India is a developing country, where resources are limited by competing priorities.” Wizenoze technology allows India to leverage existing global and local content in a learner-centric manner - so that these resources could be allocated to other educational interventions than new content development. “We are excited to be able to integrate the best content into the academic experience of every Indian learner,” said Suchindra, “thereby globalising education and outlook in an Indian context”.

India has the highest number of school-going children in the world and over the last decade, the focus of the education system has moved from promoting access to education to improving the quality of learning. Many learners are first-time internet users, and have limited guidance on using online content for the purpose of learning. With the disruption caused by the global pandemic, the learning process has been severely impacted. The average student spends over 18 hours of time per week learning on the internet however, a lack of quality content is impeding the impact of online learning. Wizenoze solves this problem.

About Wizenoze

Wizenoze brings structure in a world of information overload. Wizenoze technology gives learners access to the best educational information on the internet that matches their curriculum, age, and reading level. Wizenoze is a vast, searchable digital library curated to be expansive, diverse, reliable, and safe. The products are easily integrated into schools’ learning platforms and are hugely increasing the learning experience and outcomes.

Wizenoze was founded in 2013. The findings of a large Academic Research Project, funded by the European Commission, showed that the internet is challenging to use for learning and schoolwork. This concept inspired Diane Janknegt and Theo Huibers to start Wizenoze, to cut through the noise, identify relevant educational content, and deliver information appropriate to a learner’s reading ability.

Ever since, Wizenoze has gained recognition from Disrupt 100, Forbes, and Google. But nothing, of course, compares to knowing that they are having a genuine impact on global education standards and helping improve the lives of real people in the real world. Wizenoze operates internationally and has offices in Amsterdam, London and New Delhi.
