The Award recognises her as an outstanding global business leader, who combines profit and purpose to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals
23 October 2020, Amsterdam: Wizenoze is delighted to announce that Meaningful Business, a global platform for leaders combining profit and purpose, has recognised Diane Janknegt, Wizenoze’s Founder as a Meaningful Business 100 (MB100) leader for 2020.
The 2nd edition of the MB100 was curated by an expert panel of 16 judges, following a global nomination process. The platform received over 500 nominations from 70 countries, with each one scored across 5 key areas: Impact, Leadership, Innovation, Durability and Scope.
The 100 business leaders include corporate CEOs, entrepreneurs, micro-entrepreneurs, sustainability leaders, functional heads and impact investors from 34 countries. Diane’s achievement is exceptional – she is the only Dutch business leader to make the list, one of only two European EdTech leaders included and one of only seven leaders to feature in 2019 and 2020.
Commenting on her recognition, Diane Janknegt said, “I am delighted that Wizenoze and I have been included in this year’s MB 100. This clearly reflects the work we have done to support educators and learners globally during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, all students should have easy online access to high quality learning resources, wherever and whenever learning is taking place.
Wizenoze is on a global mission to become the world’s largest information provider for learners. We want to reach 1.5 billion students globally and give them access to the best educational information that the internet has to offer.”
The business recently raised €4million in investment from Partners in Equity, who are well known for their early stage support of Adyen, the Dutch payments unicorn. This funding will enable Wizenoze to expand internationally and to continue to address global inequalities in basic literacy. The imminent launch of Wizenoze India and further expansion into the Middle East and North Africa are high on the agenda.
Tom Lytton-Dickie, Founder and CEO, Meaningful Business added, “We are delighted to recognise Diane Janknegt as part of the Meaningful Business 100 for 2020. In what has been a challenging year for everyone, the MB100 provides an inspiring reminder of the brilliant work being done around the world to solve the biggest issues we are facing today.”
Meaningful Business is devoted to creating a unified platform for these leaders to collaborate and share knowledge in order to amplify their social impact in support of the UN 2030 agenda.

However, students all over the world are faced with a flood of commercially focused, inappropriate, and irrelevant information when searching online. Wizenoze aims to address this by facilitating access to an internet tailored for education. We develop industry-leading AI technology that enables students to search and find content online that matches their learning needs and reading skills.
