Less choice, more freedom
Meet Laura Byrne, she’s a science teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School, Merseyside, UK
“My students are very curious and will go off and find all kinds of stuff online. I wanted to find out if limiting the options would still provide students with everything they need for a specific task. And it did!"
A better way of completing tasks in class
Laura’s students used Wizeup to complete a task about habitats. Laura introduced the topic and using the information students found via Wizeup, she asked her students to fill in a worksheet that she had prepared for the lesson.
“I showed my class how Wizeup worked and reminded them of the key words we had discussed, and from there they did their own thing. Students were initiating what they wanted to investigate according to their own interests rather than me spoon feeding the information. They were covering so many skills at once including computer, science and reading skills.”
“Look what I found!”
Wizeup opened up a world that Laura’s students wanted to explore and share with everyone. “They didn’t move from the computer for 40 minutes which is amazing! They were eager to find things and share it with others - the learning was really good.”
Set it and forget it...
Recommendation: 8 / 10
“Wizeup is a platform you can trust. When I have 25 students in a room it gives me confidence that my students are all safely working on the set task.”
