Wizenoze aims to change the way people learn using the internet. We develop software that helps people discover information that matches their interests and abilities. Using our tools, students have demonstrated improved learning outcomes. Come and join us in creating the best products to unlock the full potential of each and every student.
At Wizenoze we have the world’s largest online collection of trusted learning resources. We then match the best resources to the school curriculum and vocational courses.
Wizenoze is an award-winning startup in its scale-up phase. Our best asset is our team. We are a diverse mix of smart people from 10 nationalities with backgrounds in education, technology, science, and commerce.
Full-time, starting ASAP – You will be part of our product team, based out of our Amsterdam office. Working in a flexible environment, partially office based and partially remote.
Product Owner Role
At Wizenoze, the role of a Product Owner is the link between the product organization and the tech organization. The most important task is to lead the realization of the visions, ideas and priorities of the product management by translating it into technical requirements and actionable stories and tasks. You will be working closely to the product team, as well as to the tech- and science teams. As we are a small sized company, the role of the PO is more diverse than it would be in a larger organization, but this also means more freedom and an opportunity to influence the direction of the products and the company.
As the Product Owner, you will be the person owning and managing the backlog, coordinating planning and priorities, as well as take the lead in the planning- and stand-up meetings of the tech team, making sure that the right feature are delivered at the right time.
As the PO at Wizenoze you will (among other things) be
- Managing the backlog
- Prioritize development tasks together with the product management team and the tech team
- Translating requirements from the product team into actionable development tasks and stories
- Oversee the different stages of development and make sure that the right things are delivered in time
- Work closely with our QA to ensure the quality of all deliverables delivers against the requirements
We expect you to have an academic background within software engineering (i.e., a MSc or bachelor in a relevant subject) with a couple of years of experience from working with software engineering and development, as well as experience from working with products, preferably as a product owner or in similar roles.
You should also have relevant experience from working with agile methods, such as Scrum or Kanban, but still have a pragmatic view of software development, being able to adapt to changing conditions and new requirements during the lifecycle of a software product.
As a person you are social and not afraid of participating and going into discussions with your colleagues. You are a leader by example rather than a manager and you like to coach people and share your knowledge and experience in order for the team to obtain best possible results.
We aim to create an environment in which every employee can thrive and unlock their full potential. You will have a great deal of autonomy and will be able to impact the lives of learners worldwide. The company culture is open and non-hierarchical; we value everyone’s input and opinion. At Wizenoze you will be working in an award-winning start-up. We have been awarded multiple times for our societal impact and our potential to disrupt.
We believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgment when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are – your gender, race, sexuality, or religion. All you need is a passion for education and technology and a desire to impact the way people learn.
What will we give you:
- Exciting work environment with great growth prospects
- A position that can contribute greatly to the quality of our market ecosystem
- 25 holiday days, based on a full-time assignment.
- A flexible working environment
A well-thought-out cover letter explaining why you fit the above responsibilities and want to work for Wizenoze will put you at the top of the list. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
